• Fluff may appear. Do not worry! Sweep your rug with a stiff broom for the first few days in the direction of the plush and vacuum clean it regularly.
• Never pull a long or loose thread. Cut it with scissors.

Every step in their manufacturing process - from the initial design to yarn-dying - is done by hand, and several of their designs are finished with hand-carving.

 

Second Studio's wool absorbs contaminants in the air, improving the indoor air quality and helping you breathe easier. Not only does their wool keep the air free of many pollutants, it will not re-emit them, even when heated. In fact, it has been estimated that Second Studio's wool rugs can continually purify indoor air for up to 30 years. Also, their wool fiber does not support combustion - it is difficult to ignite and is self-extinguishable. Charring can be easily brushed away. As well as being extremely safe, their wool carpets retain their appearance even after minor burn damage from fireplace embers or cigarettes.

one of the purest natural fibers in the world, and by nature a biodegradable resource. The material is
exclusively dyed with ecological pigments from Switzerland. Our organization supports Goodweave,
an independent organization that certifies humanitarian standards of rug producers and provides
educational outreach and resources.

 

All rugs are manufactured with 100% New Zealand wool or New Zealand wool and bamboo silk blend or New Zealand wool and viscose blend. All designs can be customized in sizes and colors.

Second Studio is one of the leading manufacturers of contemporary area rugs with a discerning global clientele. Their development department and design studio are situated in Sweden - an area rich in textile manufacturing history. Not only design and functionality are of importance at Second Studio, also the composition of the carpets is of highest demand. Every step in their manufacturing process - from the initial design to yarn-dying - is done by hand, and several of their designs are finished with hand-carving.

 

Second Studio's wool absorbs contaminants in the air, improving the indoor air quality and helping you breathe easier. Not only does their wool keep the air free of many pollutants, it will not re-emit them, even when heated. In fact, it has been estimated that Second Studio's wool rugs can continually purify indoor air for up to 30 years. Also, their wool fiber does not support combustion - it is difficult to ignite and is self-extinguishable. Charring can be easily brushed away. As well as being extremely safe, their wool carpets retain their appearance even after minor burn damage from fireplace embers or cigarettes.
